Our Facility

Cedar Ranch Labradors is located on 13 acres in beautiful Descanso, CA in the mountains of Eastern San DIego County. To the north is uninterrupted forest of oak and chaparral which changes to pine in the higher elevations. Our property has many mature trees, an orchard, and a large pond which contains many koi fish, turtles and bullfrogs. We also have a horse, a cow, a cat, chickens, a tortoise, and a 10 pound Yorkshire terrier named Lacey whose mission in life is to kill small (and sometimes not so small) rodents (unless they beat her up and put her in the hospital, well, that's another whole story).

Our kennel is comprised of 6 - 12' by 6' covered concrete floor kennels with floor drains and insulated doghouses. There is a seventh kennel which is split and attached to two indoor 6' by 9' birthing rooms, complete with heat and air conditioning. We also have a 12' by 12' office and a small storeroom. The dogs have about two acres to play on during the day and are put up in the kennels at night.

A typical day in the life of a Cedar Ranch Labrador:
7:00 a.m.- all dogs let out for the day to play, kennels cleaned.
11:00- 12:00: midday check on dogs, loves, retrieving, cookie time.
3:30- Individual training daily or dog training class every Monday.
Dusk: dogs fed and put up for the night with various toys and stuffed treat balls.

We take pride in our dogs and the quality of puppies we produce. All dogs are part of our family and are treated accordingly. Our facility is not a converted building or barn, it was specifically designed just for our dogs, and built solely by our family.
